WealthOS takes your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

1. Data We Collect

Account data

• Email address (required for account creation)
• Name (optional, used for personalisation)
• Password (hashed — we never store your password in plaintext)

Portfolio data

• Assets you manually enter (asset names, values, quantities)
• Financial goals and settings you configure
• Portfolio history snapshots generated by the app

Usage data

• Pages visited and features used (aggregated, anonymised)
• Device type and browser (for compatibility purposes)
• Approximate location (country-level only, derived from IP)

2. How We Use Your Data

• To provide and operate the WealthOS platform
• To send account-related emails (confirmation, password reset, billing)
• To improve the platform based on aggregated usage patterns
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your financial data for advertising.

3. Data Storage & Security

• Data is stored in secure cloud infrastructure (Supabase, hosted on AWS).
• Row Level Security ensures your data is mathematically isolated from other users.
• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
• We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate WealthOS:

• Supabase — database and authentication
• Stripe — payment processing (we do not store card details)
• Anthropic (Claude) — AI portfolio intelligence (your portfolio data is sent to generate responses; it is not stored by Anthropic)
• Yahoo Finance / CoinGecko — live market price data (no personal data is shared)
• Vercel — hosting and serverless functions

Each third party is bound by their own privacy policy and data protection obligations.

5. Your Rights

• Access: Request a copy of your data at any time.
• Correction: Update your account information in settings.
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data from account settings.
• Portability: Export your portfolio data from the Reports section.

6. Cookies

WealthOS uses minimal cookies for authentication session management only. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

WealthOS is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

8. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you by email or in-app notice if we make material changes to this Privacy Policy.
